JavaScript in Web Design

Introduction: In this tutorial, you will do some exercises about using JavaScript to enhance user experience of your website.

Activity

  • Go to http://ramblingsoul.com/ to download a free CSS template. (I recommend RS 15)
  • Add a jQuery Tooltips to enhance the hyperlinks in the web page.
You can use jQuery Plugin TinyTips if you don't have any preference.
  • Add a jQuery plugin to enhance the image display of the web page.
You can use LightBox if you don't have any preference.
  • Add a tabs UI to your web page and make some samples to demonstrate the application. Try to use it in the side bar.
You can use jQuery UI to make the tab UI.
  • Use JavaScript to make some charts in your web page.
You can use jQuery Visualization Plugin if you don't have any preference.

Submission

  • You need to demonstrate your work to Steven in a tutorial session. Steven may ask you some questions to test your knowledge.
