  • Use the lists below to reverse-identify their purpose and target audience.
Analysis of Web Site Purpose
Q1) What do you believe is the purpose of the site you visited?
Q2) Is the purpose of the site clearly stated?
Q3) Approximately how long did it take you to identify the intended purpose of the site?
Q4) If the purpose is not clearly stated, what information provides you with a clue regarding the intended purpose?
Analysis of Web Site Audience
Q5) Who is the intended audience of the site you visited?
Q6) Does the Web site make clear who its intended audience is?
Q7) If not, what information presented provided you with clues about the intended audience?
Q8) Approximately how long did it take you to identify the intended audience?

Activity 2

  • Reading: Creating a Site Design Plan - Digital Web Magazine
  • Now, a company called Speedy Office has provided you with a Request for Proposal or RFP document.
  • Download the RFP document and read it.
  • This is a document which a client may send out to Web design firms, inviting them to bid for a design project.
  • Based on the approach described in the above Reading, write down an initial list of the business needs, user needs and goals for this web site project. Keep in mind that changes will probably be made to this list after further discussions with your client.

  • In Easy Steps (http://www.ineasysteps.com) contains all four of the most common types of web page (homepage, transitional page, content page, and action page).
  • Identify an example for each type of web pages. Give the URL of the web pages.
